One of my readers(pranosh) mailed me asking how to schedule downloads in the night even when he is not in front of his computer.He was having BSNL Home Combo 500 Plan net connection which has night time free download from 02.00 to 08.00 AM.So the computer should automatically turn on at 02.00 AM then start his scheduled downloads (torrent) and force shutdown at 08.00 AM.
Also what if you want to run a program, let’s say a software to record TV at late hours in the night? No problem as it is possible to wake up your system from a Stand-by mode or Hibernation using this tool.
The above jobs could be easily done with a simple utility called WakeOnStandBy.It must be first activated so that it resides in memory and wakes the computer at at predefined time, runs a file and if necessary sends it into Stand-by mode, hibernates it or shuts it down.See the screenshot for details.

how can we automatically dial internet connections for dialup ........bsnl dataone
Hi,
The wake up software would be a good utility but I believe the internet connections like BSNL or for instance my ISP has to activated by Logging into a local website like http://10.0.0.11/800.php
I mean by providing the username and password in a webpage then we can browse through webpages
so can the above action be programmed with that software ?
Would love to know any related info on it

For automatic login or dialing for bsnl dataone follow these steps
open notepad and type
rasdial 'connection_name' 'username' 'password'
for eg, if your connection name is dataone, username is net and password is 123456, then use rasdial dataone net 123456
save the file as “connect.bat”
open notepad again and type
rasdial 'connection_name' /disconnect
for eg. rasdial dataone /disconnect
save this file as “disconnect.bat” now go to scheduled tasks (from control panel or from start menu) and click on Add scheduled tasks
schedule to run connect.bat at 2.05 am and disconnect.bat at 07.55am
i m here in australia and i need to download after 2am, so i used to keep my laptop on before sleeping and enabled utorrent scheduler. but now thanx to the author and this wake up software i can put my lappy on standby.

Above procedures are ok. Is it possible to make log on to the system automatically, when we are not near to the system.
